Volunteer Opportunities

"Volunteering is an opportunity to help others who are making adjustments in their lives."
- Aging Services' Volunteer

Beginning in 1969 and continuing today, volunteers play an integral part
in carrying out the mission of Aging Services, Inc.
"Helping older adults to remain living independently in our community."

Volunteer Roles

Aging Services, Inc. offers several opportunities designed to engage you in a meaningful volunteer relationship with an older adult. Several positions are on-going, while others are seasonal. All opportunities are flexible and based upon your skills, interests, and personal schedules.

•  Transportation Volunteers

•  Drive older adults to medical appointments, the grocery store, or Milestones Adult Day Health Centers. Mileage is reimbursed at the IRS Business Rate.

"I am deeply grateful for the rides to my doctor and the grocery store. This service has been a Godsend."

•  Chore Services & Home Safety Volunteers

•  Construct wheelchair ramp; inspect a home for fall, fire, and personal security risks; make small home repairs; or help with yard maintenance projects.

"We are so grateful. That ramp is the only reason we are all home as a family. My prayers have been answered."
- Chore Client

•  Friendly Visitor Volunteers

•  Brighten the day of an older adult by visiting them in their homes. Play cards, read books, or enjoy a nice conversation.
